Caricature by John MuskerThis week at work we hung up a bunch of Joe Grant's work. Some of the guys that worked closely with him brought in original drawings, pages from his sketchbooks and shared stories for everyone to hear. Joe was just one of those amazing story minds. He had so many great ideas and was never afraid of change. I'm really glad I got to meet him and have a few conversations with him before he left this world. He's been gone 6 years now but he continues to inspire me.
We also celebrated Disney Legend Burny Matinson's birthday.
He started at the studio in 1953! He's an amazing guy to have in the story department - Happy Birthday Legend!

I spied Joe once or twice when I would be nosing around the visual development floor before popping out for too many beers with a friend who worked there (must have been a Wednesday).
Must have been around '97 - 2000 ish.
Everyone seemed so proud that Joe was still there.
