Went to the Drawing Club last night where the theme was G.I. Joe. Watching the cartoons projected on the wall brought back some memories. They're some strange characters in those series! Zartan and Barbecue are probably my favorites.
Something really odd that I noticed I do now is when I draw, I draw everything in layers? I'm coming home with a huge stack of papers - I guess working primarily in Photoshop has influenced the way I draw on paper. I have different parts of the body on separate layers as well as backgrounds and writing. When I got home last night I accidentally dropped all of my drawings - it took me a while to figure out which drawings went with each other. Curse you photoshop! Anyways, here are my drawings from the session: yo joe!
I'll always love this:

Thank you Fawn, Tal, and Kendra!
These rock!
So many great drawings and expressions here. Looks like a fun night.
Nice lines. What kind of paper did you use? Legal?
Thanks Brandon and Chris!
Tung - I've just been taking storyboarding pads to draw on. They're 5.5"x10" and the paper is animation paper.
Nice sketches, Paul! I like how you created an even greater sense of story by adding in an environment (something I should try to do more of). Also, it's been a minute since I've seen those old PSA's! Thanks for sharing.
Awesome sketches, Paul!!
Superb! I can't stop looking at them. It's so difficult to create such strong story pose yet you make this appear so easy. Bravo!
There's lots to learn from these wonderful sketches.
